WHAT IS THE ASHEVILLE FILM FESTIVAL?

Asheville Film Festival is a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit film festival dedicated to creating a platform to uplift upcoming independent filmmakers. We also highlights filmmakers from Western North Carolina, fostering a local community that supports the art of film.
When is the festival held?

The Asheville Film Festival is a yearly event, usually scheduled towards the end of August. We do also host smaller fundraising events throughout the rest of the year, including the Tokiyasdi Film Race, a timed film competition coming Summer 2027.
what about the venue?

The Asheville Film Festival is held every year in the historic Masonic Temple located at 80 Broadway Street in downtown Asheville. There are a variety of places to park within easy walking distance of the venue that include street parking, surface lots, and parking garages, like the College Street Garage. Please note that the surface lot adjacent to the venue is paid parking, and not free. All street parking is metered from 7:00am to 6:00pm. After 6:00pm and on Sundays, all street parking is free.
WIll there be any food or drinks at the venue?

The Runaway Cafe will be set up right out front and serving up gourmet beverages and amazing baked goods and empanadas daily thru mid-afternoon for the entire weekend. Many of Runaway Cafe’s menu items are vegetarian or vegan friendly. Alcoholic & other beverages will also be available for purchase at the bar inside the venue. Additionally, Asheville offers a variety of places to wet your whistle and enjoy a simple snack or a more expansive meal within walking distance. We highly encourage attendees to take time between film blocks to explore the locally-owned restaurants and small businesses right nearby!
